The Registration Process
All patients (excluding emergency patients) register for services in Central Registration located on the first floor of the hospital.
During the registration process, pertinent medical information will be obtained that is vital to your hospital record. All patient information is held in strict confidence. Please bring your medical insurance cards. If you have an Advance Directive (living will), you may want to bring a copy unless the Hospital already has it on file.
All inpatient rooms are private rooms to provide you with the utmost privacy and comfort.
Preparing for Discharge from the Hospital
When you have recovered, your physician will write an order for you to be discharged from the hospital. Your nurse will provide you with written information about your prescriptions and any follow-up appointments with your physician. Your nurse will also discuss instructions that will help you make the transition from the hospital to your home. If you need specific accommodations at home, you will be referred to the Discharge Planner who will assist you and your family with arrangements for any special needs.
Once your discharge is complete, it is helpful to leave the hospital by
11 a.m. if possible. Please plan ahead by making arrangements for transportation and have clothing to wear home brought the night before. If your ride does not arrive prior to 11 a.m., you may wait in our comfortable, pleasant discharge lounge located on the second floor.
